The wisest words I've read lately are spattered under bridges. They're not in my school books. I don't have many books, anyway - not the ones you get from teachers. Education is digital. It's electrical static from a stiff. What're French and chemistry teaching me about LIFE or the person I Ought to BE? It's senseless. It's crippling.
People are dying. Are any of Us crying? Let's start trying to care for Our Fellow Humans. The Prophets are falling silent, or were quieted by the Devil before I was given to the world. I can't make sense of media now, so I live in yester-year's Melody. Hoping to make SENSE of my time. Not willing to cope. Sing a Song to pass the day. Smiling either way.
Remember the LOVERS - Legends that came before.
Drafty windows lending a chill to the black and white screen. The most beautiful concepts lost on these babies - my Generation; Yeah, talkin' 'bout Them. Heart-song to thousands not yet ALIVE. Take it all in, Child, bring it to you. You're falling, aren't you? You're calling out, too. Of course I'll lend you a hand. That's so hard to FIND nowadays. Faking your latest direction, and learning how to use yesterday's moves. Provided you CHOOSE, there's a chance you'll lose, but We've all gotta lose one of these days.
I've come to find another sense of Time. In my little notebook, this is a whole new way to Look. That's forgotten some days, in the Misty Morning Haze when I try to write Perfect Poetry, and now a Hero has shown me a DIFFERENT way. Hard-headed, the Protester I love. He changed with genre and more genre, but Blues and Rock won't be Folk, and they booed. But he stayed up, thank God.
Inconsistency is my Greatest Art, and I can't do what's in my Heart; But then, here's what's in my Heart, so I'm finally doing alright. What a Brave Soul I'd love to be, but that's okay. I can be what and who I am, and still a change can come. Let Us all love, Child-Like, Hippie-Like, Meditate, PRAY for PEACE to come Our way. My love, my love, my future children's children. I want your World to be pure and Beautiful. Though my life is still pretty, I can Wish for an even nicer life for You. sing your Life - your love, my Love. It's a beautiful Carnival out there, as long as We're all willing to pay the price of ADMISSION. It's going to take effort, but We can do it, and We'll ride the coaster Together. Cut the song, man, now the drummer will Speak. He's not so silent, such a kind-hearted boy. Peace owns such SUBTLETY, but the blatant cries will tell you - We're not war-fiends, Baby, We want the Peace.
'We' are a Chain around the globe, sand grains sifting in such a large Ocean. We don't want to hear what makes Us happy, but the TRUTH. That's what I seek, at least. Your Honesty is valuable to my MIND. I crave understanding, and to lie around beneath the trees in God's Green Forests that are becoming so scarce. Do you want your grand-kids to recognize Birches and Beeches and Oaks? The trees are important to the environment, folks. They've got so much value, I don't know what to do with you. Don't you know what words can do? I've got to say what I mean, too. If you want me to listen to you, you've got to learn to hear my views. It goes both ways, even if I'm Younger than you. I am the FUTURE; I'm following you. Stop tainting my world, man, or give me some Good News.
Velvet dinner jackets of Orange and Rust gathering dust in the back of some old V-Dub bus. Praying I can LEARN Guitar - this could be sung. Today's scene proves Anything can be a song, no matter how bad, no matter how wrong. See how I Rhyme? I'm behind my time - back in the Sixties where I'm told I belong, but I never go to be there, not by some thirty-odd years.
As long as he couldn't see their faces, they'd boo him unashamed. Once Face-to-Face, they wanted a piece of him. It's not fair, how We treat Our idols. How can they Trust when everyone wants SOMETHING? Lightning splitting the land on those hills where Lightning strikes, and you almost lose your Mind from running all the time. With my big ideas and a Test for something Real. A perfection We'll never find, 'cause nothing is Perfect. And We have no sense of time, only that We're losing it. Did you know that you're limited? All of Us, every last one.
So do what you can every day to make this planet a nicer place. So much can be said in a Smile or a Wave. Let Peace be your Greatest Crave. Love is still a necessity. But you need BELIEF. Have faith and try - don't just wait around and cry. Baby, you've got to get up and dance. Give all that Great Old Music a Chance. It's different than what you're used to, I'm sure, but have you just listened to Words? Read off those lyrics - Bobby, Johnny, Joan, and even that Fab Four. Everyone's got something to say, or they should, anyway. I hope you do, even if I disagree with you, at least you've given your Opinion, your VIEW. No One likes to be used, and no one relishes being bruised. Listen, man, LISTEN and SEE. Here's what's with me. I know someone must agree - this isn't how the world should be. With hate and Untouched Liberty. I ain't saying it's bad as can be for me, but those who have it worse Must Agree. So can you just Sing with me? Freedom is right, but It must truly be Actual, real, beautifully FREE.
